We will target API 8 Android Froyo.

We are not going to be doing anything with the wear or the tv or the android audio or glass right now.

We are just going to be mainly doing the phone and tablet.

So the minimum SDK API 8, and as you can see here lower API levels target more devices but have fewer features available.
